How to Download Facebook Videos and Reels in HD (2026)
Save public Facebook videos, Reels and fb.watch links in 1080p, 720p or 360p. A simple guide for phone and computer, with no app or login.
Facebook has a Save video option, but it only bookmarks the video inside Facebook. To keep an actual MP4 file on your phone or computer you need to download it, and for public videos that takes about ten seconds.
Step 1: Get the video link
- App: tap Share under the video, then Copy link.
- Website: click the video's timestamp (e.g. "2h") to open it on its own page, then copy the address bar.
These link formats all work:
https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=10153231379946729https://www.facebook.com/reel/1234567890https://fb.watch/abcDEF123/
Step 2: Paste and pick a quality
Open the Facebook Video Downloader, paste the link and press the arrow. You will see every quality Facebook offers for that video: 1080p, 720p, 480p or 360p.
- 1080p / 720p: best for watching on a laptop or TV
- 360p: smallest file, perfect for sending on WhatsApp
Step 3: Save
Tap Save. SaveAnyReel prepares the file (video and sound are joined into one MP4) and the download starts automatically. Short videos are ready in 10 to 20 seconds.
Why some Facebook videos won't download
| Message | Reason |
|---|---|
| "This post looks private or restricted" | The video is friends-only or in a private group |
| "Media not found" | The video was deleted, or the link is incomplete |
Only public videos can be downloaded. A quick test: open the link in a private/incognito window. If Facebook asks you to log in before playing it, it isn't public.
Facebook Reels
Reels work exactly the same way: copy the Reel's link and paste it. Reels are vertical, so 720p already looks sharp on a phone.
Is downloading Facebook videos legal?
Saving a public video for personal, offline viewing is generally fine. Re-uploading it, especially for money, needs the owner's permission.
